TRIBECA TRAVELER’S LOFT
CLIENT: PRIVATE CLIENT
LOCATION: TRIBECA, NEW YORK CITY
DETAILS: INTERIOR DESIGN
HUXHUX was commissioned to reimagine a private loft in the heart of Tribeca, creating a thoughtful refresh that honors the home’s architectural character while introducing warmth, restraint, and modern clarity. Our client is an avid world traveler that thoughtfully collects through her travels yet exercises restraint such that her home remains a calm place to reset between travels.
Our design approach is centered on continuity, material integrity, and a palette rooted in wellness and livability. In the kitchen, we introduced custom oak cabinetry that aligns seamlessly with the existing wood floors and surrounding architecture, transforming the space as a calm anchor within the loft. We layered a refined marble backsplash, updated hardware, sculptural lighting, and integrated high-end appliances to elevate the kitchen while maintaining a strong connection to the adjacent living areas.
We also carefully curated furnishings and objects from a mix of bespoke furniture makers, antique sources, and local fabricators. Layered with the client’s art collection gathered from travels around the world, the loft reflects a lived-in sensibility that blends global references with contemporary design.
Beyond furnishings and finishes, we supported the client through select structural improvements, collaborating closely with trusted contractors to ensure precision from concept through execution. The result is a light-filled home that feels intentional and relaxed, designed for everyday living and unified by a refined modern point of view.
