5th Avenue Penthouse

CLIENT: PRIVATE CLIENT
DETAILS: INTERIOR DESIGN

The 5th Avenue Penthouse is a study in tactile luxury, urban tranquility, and the transformative power of thoughtful design. Perched high above Manhattan’s iconic avenue, this residence was reimagined by HUXHUX to become a serene retreat that balances grandeur with intimacy—tailored for a client seeking both sophistication and sanctuary.

Our process began with a deep dive into the client’s lifestyle, aspirations, and the unique opportunities presented by the penthouse’s panoramic views and abundant natural light. Through collaborative discovery, we established a vision that would celebrate the apartment’s architectural bones while layering in warmth, texture, and bespoke details.

Materiality played a central role in shaping the penthouse’s atmosphere. We curated a palette of rich woods, honed stone, and luxurious textiles, each chosen for its tactile quality and timeless appeal. The result is a space that invites touch and exploration, rewarding the senses at every turn. A series of curated artworks and statement lighting fixtures add moments of visual drama, while carefully placed mirrors amplify light and extend the sense of openness.

Throughout the project, the HUXHUX team managed every detail—from initial concept and material selection to construction administration and final styling. Our holistic approach ensured a cohesive vision and a seamless client experience, culminating in a home that is as functional as it is beautiful.

For the 5th Avenue Penthouse, luxury is not just a matter of finishes or furnishings—it’s the feeling of being truly at home in a space that reflects your unique story. This project exemplifies HUXHUX’s commitment to creating residences that are both elevated and deeply personal, where every detail is considered and every moment is designed for living well.

One of the project’s key challenges was balancing grand entertaining spaces with private, restorative zones. We addressed this through thoughtful zoning, using architectural elements and furnishings to define distinct areas for gathering, relaxation, and retreat. The open-plan living and dining area is perfect for hosting, while the master suite offers a cocoon-like escape, complete with a spa-inspired bath and custom dressing room.

A defining feature of the penthouse is its custom millwork, meticulously designed and fabricated to provide both function and artful expression. From the sculptural entryway console to the integrated shelving and hidden storage, every piece was crafted to enhance daily living while maintaining a sense of effortless elegance. These elements anchor each space and create a seamless flow throughout the home.
