The Studs Mobile Concept reimagines retail and piercing for a new generation, translating the brand’s playful, community-driven ethos into a traveling experience. Studs Piercing engaged HUXHUX Design Inc. as lead interior designer to develop a mobile solution that would bring the studio directly to clients in an agile and adaptive format.
Conceived in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the pop-up trailer combines a retail sales floor and a fully equipped piercing suite within an ultra-compact footprint. The design prioritizes efficiency, clarity, and approachability, ensuring that the experience remains welcoming and professional despite its mobile scale. HUXHUX collaborated closely with the client and fabrication partners to carry the project from concept through execution.
This mobile activation builds on HUXHUX’s longstanding partnership with Studs, beginning with the brand’s first piercing studio, recognized by Fast Company as one of the best retail designs of 2020. Subsequent iterations included smaller-format locations for shopping centers, the development of this mobile concept, and the establishment of national brand design standards based on the Austin flagship.
