Beyond the Everyday: Designing Spaces That Transport and Transform
We believe in prototyping as a means of generating sustainable growth.
How might we test meaningful retail concepts through real life prototypes?
For Makespace, a modern self-storage brand, we saw an opportunity to transform a routine task—picking up or dropping off stored goods—into a branded, immersive experience. The goal was simple: turn a transactional moment into something shareable, memorable, and emotionally resonant.
What if we achieve a marketable, successful retail prototype that keeps costs low while delivering scalable interiors for iterative brand development?
The Mindspace corridor isn’t just a clever branding element; it’s an experience built for digital interaction. Thoughtfully designed moments within the corridor invite customers to engage, reflect, and share—encouraging organic social media interaction from inside the store. This physical-to-digital bridge turns every visit into potential content and connection.
Crucially, we balanced this experiential ambition with operational pragmatism. Every element of the store was designed to be easily reproducible, scalable, and efficient to build—ensuring that brand consistency, speed to market, and cost-effectiveness were never compromised.
The result is a space that does more than serve a function. It tells a story. It invites participation. And it transforms a basic retail touchpoint into a platform for brand engagement, digital reach, and emotional clarity.
